1988 F350 5.8L Windsor. 27,000 original miles. We are the second owner, purchased from a Volunteer Fire Department in NC (19,XXX miles when we bought it in August 2016). Had it clear coated to preserve the patina (minus the mud). Sits on 35's with a 2" level in the front. Been fun working through it. Some pieces are being replaced as we probably drive it more than it has. Great first "vehicle" for the 16-year old boy.

Just picked this up from a coworker, 1993 XLT 4x4, 5.8L auto with 218K miles. No leaks, still has the R12 Freon AC, no badging or side molding:
Attachment 568246
Had it painted at Maaco and replaced the badging and molding:

If you don’t mind me asking- what did that paint job run? I just did the roller rustoleum job and it’ll get me by for a year or two but I want it to look nicer than it does

No problem, I chose the urethane paint instead of the enamel which normally runs $549. They gave it to me for $399, plus I added a sealer for another $99. Total plus tax and shop incidentals came out to $645. I had to prep it though. There are several places where I didn't quite sand it down good enough, and it shows. It's good enough for my needs though, compared to what it looked like before.

Wow, that looks great!! I am hoping to do the same thing with mine. Just have to figure out how to fix a few rust spots, then I will take it to Maaco for a spray.

Yeah they wanted $42/hr to do the prep, said it would take at least 1 - 1/2 days...cost more than the paint job. No thanks, figured I would do it myself. Holy crap it's a lot of work though! Started out with a cup brush on a 7" grinder to knock most of the paint and left over side molding residue off, then a DA sander to get it to the primer. The hardest parts to get to are around the mirrors and the grille and the lower areas around the tailgate. BTW they ended up spraying the inside of the bed too...I didn't think they would spray it; just around the top and inside flange. You might want to ask them about that when you get ready to have it painted.
