Quick question, on my 90 with the 6 cyl manual the shifter is just loose, took the truck to my mechanic says its the whole upper section of the tranny, where would be the best place to get this? Junk yard wants to sell the whole tranny, what is the proper name for this piece so i can call the dealer? If someone have one that wamts to get rid of pm me

 

there are 2 metal pins that get worn out over time i have been looking for them but they don't exist you can get them made for cheap remove them and take it to a metal shop they can cut you 2 new ones that will slide right in. my guess is about 20 bucks or so.

 

What transmission?

 

i was guessing the 5 speed with overdrive they where common right?

 

They were common, but it doesn't mean that's what he has.
