Default Shelly's Truck

So I am losing my daily driver and the F150 is now mine because my Ex will not pay the back fees on it. $500 (what is owed) is cheap for a truck and I can not afford another car.

Two years ago we dumped just under a $1000 into it to get it to pass smog, before I could get it to a referee it started to leak gas from/near the fuel filter. At that time my marriage fell apart and divorce happened. So poor truck sat there until every thing was settled on who got what.

Yesterday I changed out the flat tire, put in a new battery, hosed it off and changed out the fuel filter (the ex swears that was the issue) and it still leaked when I tried. As it was dark I gave up for the night.

Today I picked up 2 fuel line repair kits for where it hooks to the fuel filter. Not 100% sure if that is the issue. I can always return them. As soon as I am done here I am heading out to see.

Well I got the truck jacked up. Got under there to look at the hoses and the sky opened up and it just started pouring... So I guess I will have to wait for this storm to pass.

Fuel filter is the same, and the line is the only thing I could think of either, unless you had some pictures.

If I could not find anything I was going to take some pictures, but not until this storm passes...

Up coming changes for the truck.

Removing the lumber rack and putting on a new to me Glasstite camper shell. I have a seat bolted to the bed facing backwards with seat belts so I can stuff a teen or two back there when there is more then just the three of us. It will be painted to match truck next summer.

The rear fuel tank needs to be replaced with new pump/sender unit. So far looks like that will be about $250.

Looking for a sliding rear window so I can get some heat into the shell for the kids this winter. Well and also so the dog can visit.

Need to put some type of rack on top so I can take the canoe out.

Work out how to put the bikes on with out blocking the tail gate or being lose it the bed. (rack on t he front?)

Then comes the fun stuff that just looks cool!

Not sure if plastic or hard rubber, Sorry. While I was changing the fuel filter I learned to keep a towel in my hand and my mouth closed so I was not playing vary good attention. I am a complete noob about working on vehicles. Thank god for manuals , sites like this and u tube.
