shaking bad on acceleration????
So what do I do? do i need to find the correct cluster or is that even an issue? As far as the wire on the alternator, ive never had a dead battery or charging issue. What do i need to do to fix the bucking

The battery (showing airbag) light was flickering on so i toom the cabrl off as suggested, cleaned everything, and reinstalled and it does seem to run a little better and the light is off.
Upon driving though i noticed something. It really only shakes terrible in overdrive. It has an AOD not an electronic shift overdrive. driving it is fine in 1st and 2nd as it shifts through, A little stutter in 3rd , but in overdrive is when it really shakes. If you are in overdrive and it is shaking bad, you can drip it back to just "D" and the shaking pretty much goes away. i cant see any issues with the transmission. last year i teplaced the filter and xhanged the fluid. The only thing i can say is that it appears to be overfull on fluid (2-3" above the crosshatch on the dipstick). I wouldnt think this would make it act up though. Any suggestions? It still seems like it is a little sluggish butnthe timing shows right on 10 degrees, not that you can adjust it anyway

Yes, now we know its definitely a drivetrain issue. Not sure, but overfilled fluid could cause an issue. I say drain out a bit. The timing can be adjusted. What was your procedure to check the timing? You have to disconnect the gray "spout" jumper in the driver side fender before you check timing.
Upon further research, I found a few things. 1. This could be a torque converter issue. People recommend adding a ford limited slip axle additive and adjusting the transmission cable that connects to the throttle.
Do NOT put friction modifier in your AOD
DO check the TV cable adjustment, throttle valve cable, kickdown cable
Those old carbs need a good new power valve once in a while and to make sure the choke pulloff and the electric choke cap works
