I started taking apart the engine so I could remove it. It dawned on me that with it frozen I’m not going to be able to take out the bolts on the fly wheel. Does anyone know of a trick to get that done?

Pull the engine forward OR pull the transmission back to pull the torque converter out of the transmission. Then pull the torque converter with the engine.

I think you threw a rod... I would go with the 351.. The 302 is just a little bit more power than the 300L straight 6. when my Dad bought my 300L straight 6 (new in 1991) the sales man told him the 300L straight 6 has just as much power and the 302 v8 but you get a couple more MPG with the straight 6. That was what the salesman told my Dad. He went for the 300L straight 6................ Go with the 351, the 302 from that year was low horsepower
