Default Seeking HVAC help

So I picked up a low mile 1990 F150 for my 16 year old. Needless to say he is pretty stoked. It's already reaching 100 degrees here in Arizona, so I am trying to get the A/C working for him. I picked up one of the conversion kits at Autozone along with the gauges, hoses and pump. I followed the procedures of vacuuming out the old stuff, did the leak down test (no leaks were found).

I installed my new ports and started prepping to add the Freon. The system calls for 53oz. Being that I am replacing it with 134a, I am suppose to only put in 80% of that. All went in as planned. I recorded the air at a nice cool 60.2 degrees and decided to take it for a drive. Got about 3-4 mile into it and heard an odd noise, then the air started to get warmer.

When I got it back home I made a more thorough look as to what happened and I could not find anything. I added 1 more can 11oz can in hopes if it was leaking, I would be able to track it down. Within a few minutes idling, it made the same sound as before (like a leaky rad hose). It was almost like the compressor has a blow off valve. I crawled underneath the truck and see a puddle of oil and a wet compressor. So what would cause the compressor to act like this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How did u vac down the system? What ur saying seems odd ,did the compressor after adding the second can? U may just have a leak but refrigerant hates moisture and they don't mix u could have junked the compressor

I rented the gage set and vacuum from the parts store. After doing some research it appears that the compressor got to hot, which relieved pressure. So I guess I need to find out why the pressure is getting so high.
