Default 4wd u joints

My u joints in the front end are bad. Is there anyway i change the ujoints without tearing the hubs apart. I cant get some of the screws out of my locking hubs. Ive tried heating them and soaking them in pb blast with some success cant get them all tho and the heads are a little stripped. I am not drilling them out. Ill leave the ujoints alone if it has to come down to that.

X2. Drilling them out is not hard, just drill the heads off then pull the cap off. I was always able to heat them after the cap was off and use a vice grips to spin them out the rest of the ways.

ur heat and blaster is not getting to where u need it. Sooner or later it will need to be addressed. I would try and drill them my self, then get the locking hub off and go from there. This is a can of worms but u don`t know how big the can is going to be.

These are just the first screws that need to be taken off to change the u joints. Wait in tell u get to other bolts on truck that have been exposed to the elements for 20 years. Any can of worms can be fixed,it just takes more time and money if it don`t go right.

Right they have a lot of play in them and they clunk and a cap is gone on one of them. I know you need a special socket for the hubs from doing wheel bearings on dads 94. Thought id lube those to. As far as that i have never gone past doing wheel bearings.
