What do you use yours for?
Cool! Ya I was just curios! The ttb axles don't fall apart. I have seen broncos and f150s flying through off road situations at close to 100 mph!
They both have there qualities! But for slow speed trail/rocks or mud the solid axle is superior.
That axle has front drums doesnt it?

I thought it was a drum brake but somebody said it was disc... Looks nothing like disc to me...

I know the ttb is good I just think the sas is stronger, because of the engineering it just looks a bit more susceptible to breaking. It's actually out of a '76 f250, I'm thinking this is the axle that was only made for a year and a half...

So, an axle from an f150 or bronco is what I'll be looking for. What numbers are good ones to look for on the casting?

Yes it is drum brakes if it's a 76 f250! I had a 75 f250 with the same axle! It is a Dana 44 hd!

Look for a front 78-79 Dana 44 with 3.55s cause that's most likely your stock gear ratio.? If not any axle of those years will be a great upgrade! It will say 3 55 in the same spot that that axle says 4 09
