Default Saginaw Pump Conversion

Hi Everyone,
I'm planning a Sagniaw P/S pump conversion for my '92 4.9L and was wondering if anyone has any tips. I have the bracket, hi-pressure line, pulley, and will be ordering the pump. Is it as simple and just swapping out the parts? Will the belt size change? If so, does anyone know what size belt I'll need?

Thanks,

-Shaun

I can only speak from experience on my 302, but I needed a belt that was about 1.5" longer.

Best upgrade I have ever done to the truck by far.

I clicked on the above link and posted on the wrong forum. FYI, you will need to pick up a Saginaw pulley due to the C2 pulley has a smaller diameter hole than the Saginaw pulley.

I can speak about the 5.8- the factory belt fits well- its tight but fits. I have 2 of these on my personal vehicles and have sold probably 20 sets over the past year so I know they are an easy install.

Is the bracket actually different? Can I just install the Saginaw pump into the existing bracket?

On a 5.0 and 5.8 you just take the entire factory truck bracket pump and all- then you bolt up the new Saginaw bracket pump and all. I've got a couple of you're interested in a setup.. it's the pump, bracket, pulley and pump cap.

What does the Saginaw pump conversion do for you? What's the reason for using it? just quiet?

It's not possible to bolt up to the old bracket. The Saginaw has a higher pressure, quieter and simply works better for much longer.
