roller rockers
if i can find a set of gt40 heads for my truck, i plan on putting in 1:72 roller rockers. if i do that, will i be able to use the stock pushrods, or do i need to get a set of longer ones?
also, will i need to get a set of those high rise valve covers, or will the stock ones be fine?

Your stock covers will not work and neither will your pushrods. Are you doing other engine work? You don't just want to slap 1.7 rr onto something. If you go with taller covers you'll have to put a plenum spacer on as well.

The easy answer, is call the manufactuer and ask them for help, they should be able to get you set up with what you need. If i was spending your money, I would buy from Crane, I know of a few sets of their gold rocker arms that have been in service for more than twenty years.

I call bull**** on everything said here, up to a point. I cut the baffles out of my valve covers and bolted em down. I used crane cams 1.7 rr's, stock valve covers, stock pushrods, no plenum spacer and I had over 60k miles on it like that.

I m not full of S**t I m just OCD .
I bought this cam one time, sized so i could just bolt it in, wound up having a freak set of heads , had to cut the valve guides down .100", put them on the block, had to cut .05 notches in the pistons, etc etc. But it was supposed to fit, bolt in.
You should at least check that when your valves are opened, and closed that your roller tip , is on the valve tip, and not running off it onto the spring retainer.
And that the pushrods aren t touching the head at any point in their travel.
