The plastic liners work great for protecting from scratches and dents...will also accelerate rust from the water that gets trapped. A lot of guys on here had the linex applied (I dont think any DIY kits are avail). Not sure of the cost. Herculiner gets mixed reviews but IMO Its the one I think I am going to get. The duplicolor "bed armor" people say it is crap, but I have no personal expierence with it. GL

Duplicolor is alright. I did my tailgate with it when my plastic liner broke off. Just one coat, but it holds up decently. Only have scratches on it from metal stuff sliding across it. I'm sure with a few coats it'd be fine, but go with the Herculiner, everything I've heard and seen is that it's better.

There's a member on here, 2000MTZ I think. He has the thread called "My new project" that's a black and silver RCSB brick nose. He used the herculiner kit on his

I used herculiner on my ranger years ago and it held up Well, My only complaint was that it went from gloss to flat black in one week when it got hot outside, I thought the flat black looked like crap.. My dad got the line-x sprayed into his super duty and it looked great for years.

If you don't care about the gloss appearance then I think the DIY herculiner would work out fine.

I love my Raptor liner. DIY spray in. $130 kit, tough and wont fade.

Warning - with any DIY liner, prep is key!!

Holy cow 1/4" thick? You have any idea how many layers of bed-liner that would take?
