Default replacing battery cables

Hey, while doing my headgasket, I decided to check out my batt cables, and both the pos and neg cables were corroded about a foot down, no good. What's the length of pos and neg cables that I need to get?

I just got the s10, traded my Plymouth laser for it... Just trying to flip it, needs clutch bled, alternator and cab corners. I thought about the sub wire idea, but that's not cheap, at all. What gauge would I need? 4? I have some I believe its 8g laying around the apt but its older stuff Probly 4 years old r so

It aint rocket science go to the parts store and have them look it up also the + cable on your truck is only a foot long so thats a lot of corosion and the - cable only has to reach from the batt to a conveniant bolt on the engine block probably about 15 in. Dont buy the cheap 4 or 6 gauge wire get a 2 or larger

Yes, I do realize its not rocket science to ask them. But I figured I would ask on here to see if someone was smart enough to know, since I have to wait for my fiances car when she is off work to go and get the parts. Which is only about 2x a week. And the neg cable also bolts onto the frame before hitting the block
