Default replacement metal door handles 1987-1996

I had yet another opportunity to make like a pissed off male African Baboon. I broke the 4th inside door handle on the driver’s side door of my truck, after only a few weeks this time. This really came as a surprise as I had “fixed” he door latch so when I pulled the handle the door opened at half of the travel of the door handle. LMC has the solution it turns out the metal door handle for the 1980 – 1986 truck fits perfectly on the 1987-1996 models. Below is the particulars found on page 16 of the 1980-1996 Ford Truck online catalog.

49-7660 DOOR HANDLE-INSIDE-LH CHROME $19.95
49-7661 DOOR HANDLE-INSIDE-RH CHROME $19.95

If you look at pages 15-17 you will find all of the parts necessary to completely overhaul your doors.

The farmer solution is to over engineer it...make one out of 1/4 inch aluminum...easily cutable with a band saw or jig saw and light so no heavy iron handles.

Yes indeed the metal 1980 - 1986 is a direct replacement.

Thanks for reminding me of Bronco Graveyard. They are a frequent supplier to the TV show Trucks!.
Wow I can get both the sides for less then one from LMC

I'll have to check and see if they have the window channels and wiper strips so I can completely refurbish my doors.

Just checked with my parts store, NAPA, and the metal handles are $23.95 each ! damn. I guess Bronco Graveyard is going to get my order.

Which ones do I order on Ebay. There are so many to choose from? I keep breaking the drivers side inside handle on my 1995.
