You don't have to take it all of the way off u can just un bolt it and slide the bed back enogh so that you can paint between it

I ran into that same problem, but since I was painting in a parking lot I didn't have the luxury if taking the bed off, my truck was red so I decided to go with red on the bottom just because i wouldn't need to paint in-between, even if u want to change colors

But one option would be to paint in between with a spray can, just paint it black because u only really see in-between at the right angle, I am usually super picky but you really can't tell

And you are going to love the paint when it's done, just be ready to put some work in
