Default Removing carpet glue ??

OK,I've owned this 1987 150 for 4 months and fixed the fuel leak with your help and gone through it fairly well mechanically and it is running great.
The bed was originally carpeted with a cap. The previous owner the grandson of the original owner pulled the carpet and ran an open bed. My next task is to remove the glue. My first thoughts were to use a wire brush and scotchbrite discs on my air grinder then prime and and paint the bed with a bed liner material. Now I'm thinking of trying my power washer 2600 psi 2.5 GPM. I have been looking for a chemical stripper that will not totally destroy the paint underneath. Does anyone have any suggestions or been through this themselves?

If you were going to bedline it why worry about the paint? Just keep wire brushing like you were doing, then power wash and dry everything before you bedline.

Mostly because I want it done faster. That is why I'm looking at chemical treatment that will not dissolve the paint and make a bigger mess.

Remove bed. Soak entire thing in kerosene or diesel and light on fire. sure to get rid of any carpet glue left, and possibly all your paint
