There is suppose to be around 30 to 40 psi coming off the fuel rail...is this correct? The engine is 5.0 V-8. Thanks for you response!!!

If I understand you correct, you have fuel to the rail and it does run with spray in intake. Am I correct? Believe the cam position sensor is what tells the PCM to fire the injectors. It sits on top of the cam synchroniser which plugs into where the distributor used to go on the 5.0. You will need a special tool to time the synchroniser, scratch that, no need. Two tiny bolts releases the sensor and it unplugs from the harness. Got confused and thinking about the synchroniser being removed as I just did on wifes 96 5.0 Explorer.

Yes,it has fuel in the rails and does run with spray...I am almost certain it is some kind of sensor or something that is giving me the problem, having dealt with a Ranger a couple of years back. The truck does have a distributer. Where would the cam positioning sensor be located at?
This is a great forum,by the way, very helpfull and i sure do appreciate everyones help here...Thanks very much to all...

Not sure if this is the right thread to post this on. i have a 1987 with a 94 300 inline 6 engine. Just a few days ago it started bucking and cutting off. If i let it sit for about an hour or so it starts back up and runs good enough to get it home, it only does it when it is at running temp. I changed the fuel filter and fuel pump and it didnt fix the problem. today when i got it home it wont crank up again. Any suggestions?
