Remote start
i have a question about my remote start. if you can help it would be apprecited. i bought the truck 3 years ago and it already had a viper remote start on it but theres so many wires under the dash and ive never messed with a remote start system before i dont know how to tell what kind it is or figure out why it just randomly quit working the other day. if someone could help or give me ideas on what to check that would be awesome
fuses and connections. if the truck still starts normally, then you know its not an actual starting problem. that limits it down to 3 things. 1.) Viper system has died 2.) Connection to viper system has come loose 3.) Fuse blown
I assume that you have more than one remote and that you have tried both to eliminate the possibility of the remote itself being bad.

There's an "800" number on the back of the remote, call that number, they will give you the name and number of a local Viper dealer, make an appointment and get it fixed. Viper alarms come with a Lifetime Warranty, you'll have to pay labor but, any parts will be covered. I installed Mobile Electronics for almost 10 years, I wouldn't suggest a novice or DIY'er muck around with the alarm/remotestart, especially when it's covered by a warranty.
it doesnt have an alarm on it. its just remote start and locks. neither of the romotes works. ive tried the hood switch and everything like that and i cant find a fuse thats blown. is there any fuses underneath the steering wheel. like where the ignition wires are under the plastic or anything like that?
