Okay, this one goes out to Sean and Sylver or anyone else with Relay experience. I brought this up the other day and don't remember where, but I think that I have it figured out. Please take a look at this diagram i just completed. The goal.....

Led Light Bar will operate independent of the high beams with a remote control with the ignition off and operate with the high beams on with the ignition on. My off road lights are currently on the high beams via a relay and that existing relay will have to be reconfigured. I think this completes the diagram. Please check it out and let me know.

Ok that makes more sense, so you want to separate trigger relays for the LED lights with a remote and the other turned on by your high beams from ignition.

It took me a second to trace out the diagram but I get what you are trying to do. Only thing I see missing is a power wire from the off road light circuit to the LED bar, that way it wouldn't matter if the remote relay and off road relay came on at once since it comes from he same power source.

I don't know how much power that LED bar draws, but again you could always add another relay in place using the high beam circuit. That way both systems are isolated to their respected relays.

 

Yep, your right. I only have the light bar triggered by the remote control unit. I guess I can run a second trigger wire from the off road lights.

 

Other then that with some fuses the diagram looks good. I've seen relay blocks you can buy that really keep the setup clean.

 

I agree, but I didn't have the $35 for the ones at the local parts stores yesterday. That is a future item, but for now, the relays will be mounted to my passengers side fender wall as neat as I can with them.

 

[IMG][/IMG]Okay, now we should be right.........Added the trigger from the off road lights. This will give me both the off roads and led light bar with the high beams. Gotta see how the 'ole girl handles this amperage. Looking at somewhere around...........580w or 42 amps. 65W each high beam = 130w, 100w each off road x 2 = 200w, 250w light bar.

 

Around now is where a dual battery setup comes in handy.

 

We'll see. Really no reason to keep the 200w's worth of off road lights. Might remove them and transplant them to another vehicle.

Look at the second diagram. When I use the remote control to trigger the light bar through the relay, that's great. However, if I use the high beams or the offroad lights to trigger the light bar tied into the led trigger wire, when I turn on the remote, I 'm feeding power to the high beams or the offroad lights. There's going to have to be a high amp diode in there to keep from backfeeding. No matter how I look at it, if I do a dual trigger, I'm going to feed the other lighting. Call me dumb, but the last diagram won't work either.
