Rear end help
I Got a 95 F150 with a 4 inch super lift some 35 inch grips and a 347 302 stroker in her and i keep breaken the caririers in the rear end the ring and pinion r fine just the carirers explode in it , is this a comon problem.
adding the bigger tires put more strain on the carrier so im assumeing you are useing a stock carrier and im guessing its an 8.8 on that note get a stronger carrier cause oviously cranking the throtle to hard and the big tires do not help and no its not a common problem if you said you were toing something ok id be yeah that be comon but seems like for your set up you need a stronger carrier is it open locker solid or posi guessing posi next guess 3.55 is a common ratio i sujest upgrading the carrier to a high performance maybe by detriot easton or find a hardened steal instead of cast
With 35s, and a performance motor, you might want to consider swapping to an 8-lug setup. The sterling 10.25" has the tone-ring which will let you retain your speedometer, and swapping your TTB to 8-lug is as simple as swapping over everything from the knuckles out on an 8-lug chevy 10bolt or dana44. Its a pretty straight forward swap, but you will have to have your rear driveshaft modified.
yeah 10.25 is the way to go but depending what springs you have in you might need an add a leaf but as far as the 8 lug that wond help but the carrier in the 10.25 is one bigger and 2 stronger which will in turn fix the exploding carrier problem but keep in mind . . . changing the rear to an 8 lug . .. you have to change the front to 8 which means the dual piston caliper and bigger spindel plus corect i beam also thats if you dont have 4x4 if you have 4x4 then you need a new front axle with 8 lug set up

(and if you have an issue with me saying so, PM me, and i'll prove it all too you, I'm not gonna argue in a thread)
The steering knuckles out off of an older Ford f250 will bolt on and then you will not have to worry about having tracking down the proper parts when you need to replace the front brakes or other components. You will need to look for a standard cab 4X4 between the years of 80 to 86 or so, I am not positive about the later models having the 44 front axle. These years have the same carrier, axles, knuckle, spindle and lockout hubs. The major difference is the 8 bolt hubs, the larger disc and brake mounting, and the leaf spring mounts.
