Default rear diff. leak

it just seems like i cant win fix one thing another problem arises oh well. got a leak in my rear diff. not the back but the front where the driveshaft meets the rear diff. couple questions, 1 does anyone know the size of the pinion nut? 2. is there anything special i need to do that is very important or is it just straight forward, like taking off driveshaft, unbolting pinion nut, removing seal, replacing seal stuff like that or do i have to do something extreme 3. do i need any special tools? im trying to get this done tomorrow morning before i go to work so any help would certainly be appreciated

It's not too bad, I've done it to mine. I don't know the size of the nut though. You need to mark the nut in relation to the shaft. When reassembled you tighten the nut just past the mark you made. There is a special tool to hold the pinion from turning when you unbolt the nut, but I used a tire iron wedged in just right. I lowered the truck so the tire iron hit the ground, holding it from spinning. You may need a puller to get the pinion flange off.
