Default RABS-1 Code Retrieval

Hi,
Can someone tell me the best way to identiy the connector I need to ground to get trouble codes on my 1989 F-150 300-6, 5-speed Mazda manual? The only wires are in one group with a handful of wires. There are white conectors in this group but i do not see anything that looks like the Haynes manual! Thanks

^ confused. Best that I can remember it looks like the EEC IV for the engine and is located near brake booster and fender well. Have to confess have never gone after codes for this system. Good luck and would like feedback about your findings.

Hi Bill,
I believe that is the location for the "Check engine" light, code connection under the hood, but I want to run codes for the ABS system and that is suppose to be under the dash, drivers side. The picture I get in the Haynes manual and what I have are different. Was hoping that someone had done this before and could help me out.My rear antilock/brake light are off after I start the truck but then in about 30 minutes of driving come back on and I have done all the easy things like fluid, brake light bulbs and the speed sensor on the differental but to no avail! I am now thinking bad RABS valve or ABS module, but these are pricey and would like to get a code before preceding, thanks!

Best to wait for more input. You are probably right about location of connector, just remember the connector near firewall/booster and the engine farther forward closer to the headlights. But it has been a few years.

Hi,
Well... after running all over the internet I found how to identify the wire needed to run my codes on my RABS-1 modulating unit on the frame of my 1989 F-150. This is a single wire with a single pin in a black open housing. It is the only one in the main wire bundle under the dash by the emergency brake pedal. All of this is for the next poor slob like me that had a hard time getting any info on this.

I ran the codes and got a number 4 code which is a bad RABS valve, which I will replace. At least I am pointed in the right direction now!
