Default Question on Ignition Upgrade

I am thinking about installing an aftermarket ignition coil with the hope of further improving MPG gains that I have had by just taking an old farm truck that I bought about a year ago and getting her into properly maintained shape. I have heard good things about the MSD coils so I have done a little looking into them. It looks like they make two stock replacements:

the Street Fire coil
http://www.msdignition.com/Products/...reet_Fire.aspx

and the Hi Performance coil
http://www.msdignition.com/Products/...rformance.aspx

I had the cap and wires and plugs replaced right after I bought the truck (about 3000 miles ago). The cap and wires are generic (I think that the wires are 8mm) and the plugs are Motorcraft. Does anyone have an opinion on either of these coils? The Hi Performance coil is not that much more than the Street Fire coil, so I am happy to pay a little more if it will perform better.

Do I need to go with a heavier duty cap and/or thicker wires to run either cap? Anything else that I am not thinking of? I don't mind paying a little extra for the added upgrades, but I would like to avoid putting a new ignition controller in at this point. I would greatly appreciate any input.

Thanks

I would use these wires and the stock coil. They also have coils that match.

For what it's worth, the Motorcraft ignition rotor DR374B is the best on the market (in my opinion).
