Default question about engine swap?

i got a 96 ford f150 its got the 300 in it. its 4x4. i have been thankin about doing a v8 swap. im not gonna wast my time to put a 302. i hurd their woulnt be much diffrents. i want to put a 351 in it. what i would i need to do this and would it be best to put a 302 or 351?

I'd keep it. If you do a swap it will need all new ecu, harness, mounts, ect. Big PITA if ya ask me. But why get rid of the 300? It's the most reliable gasoline engine produced.

more power lol. well its got 33s on it with 355s. id like to put 373 or 410

Be best to find a wrecked 96 F-150/250 or a Bronco with 351 in it. That way have all parts needed from motor/trans to harnesses. Prob pick one up cheap, bout $500-$1000.

gears are easy, you can either spend 1500 bucks and have someone do it or spend like 200-400 bucks on the whole axles and just switch them in. if your confident enough to do a engine swap then you can easily do a axle swap.

If you want more power, why don't you go for a 460? I would still keep the 300 though it's a good reliable engine.

im still waiting to see someone do that swap, the 460 in my heavy *** truck can get her moving pretty good, id love to see what it would do in a 2wd norm cab short bed lol.

i dont have the much money to spend i was just realy wanting to no the easyest and cheapest way to make my truck run better. their use to be a black ford run around here it was for sale. the guy put a 460 wiring and all in it. man it was nice fuel injected and all. 5 speed stepside bed. it had like 38s on it.
