Default Quad shock question

Ok Im sure this might have been asked at some point so sorry if it has. Ok heres the deal I have a 90 F150 or so the title says, I took a whole other body off a 94 and put it on a 90 frame. So I figured hell Ive gone this far might as well convert it over to 4x4. I bought the front axles and everything I needed off a 87 F150 4x4 , the new 4x4 axles are made for quad shocks. I was going to buy new top shock mount housing brackets , but the more Im getting into it, I would like to avoid having to replace those housing brackets. My question is has anybody done this? Give me some input here can I just go with single shocks on the front end even though theres a spot for the quads? Will it really matter? It looks to me like the bottom shock mounts on the radius arms are in the same place so can I just use singles? Any input would be a big help thanks guys.

My truck has the quad shock mount on the bottom and only the single on the frame. I have not looked at many that were not quad shock to see if this was common or not. Make sure you get the single shocks if you do not switch your tower.

Ok when you say only a single mount on the frame , do you mean the lower mount on the radius arm? My question is would it be ok to run single shocks on each side instead of quad shocks , even though the 4x4 axles are made for quad shocks. The original axles only had single shocks on each side , the lower shock mounts on the radius arms are in the same exact places on both original and 4x4. I bought brand new shocks and put them on the truck before i decided to do all this so I think I could reuse them if this will work? Does anybody know? Has anybody done this?

It should be fine, just get heavy duty shocks. The quad shocks are just an upgrade. People pay some big bucks to add that option so if you don't feel like doing it now at least save the brackets for later.

Hey thanks big time bro I really appreciate you all responding so quick. I didnt buy the top brackets for the quad shocks though I was trying to avoid it if all possible they are $100 a piece.

Yeah. I think I already read some thread regarding the same issue. I also have the single mount shock.
