Propane Conversion...
I have 3 F150's I have a 77 that has an inline that runs on propane it gets about 1200k to a 200L tank. I have a biult 460 that I am hooking propane up too. and a 96 I will eventually convert.
The 77 runs very well it does have power loss, but still can get up and go when you put the pedal down. I bought this truck back in January, I took out the 400M and put a inline 6 in. I am seeing alot of missguided info on here. I am slowly learning from readng articles, by people that know what they are talking about, and am figuring out how good propane is. But yes it does take some attention, but if you hook it up properly it does run very well

And it runs like a dream.
At $0.69 per litre (rather than $1.24 for Gas) it was more than worthwhile.
The enquiries that I have made indicate that Propane is much easier on an engine than gasoline - giving better longevity.
This was from a local guy that had his last 5 trucks switched over to propane - he also works in the gasoline industry.
What I am finding awkward to locate is a good online resource so that I can shop pricing.
There are 2 local stations selling auto propane in my area (Newmarket - Ontario - Canada) that I have found so far ....
Just my 3 cents worth.

1) I'm thinking of converting my 5.4 to propane. Is anyone driving a 5.4 on propane now? Which brand of propane equipment?
2) I ran a '95 Crown Vic with 4.6 on propane from 2002 - 2010 and it was excellent (Prins system). I never had any Ford repairs that were due to the propane system and benefited significantly by the fuel price advantage. Yes, the oil stays clean but I changed it about every 8,000 kms - cheap insurance!
3) Inquired at Canada Engines, Burnaby, about best engines for propane: they recommended any Ford or Chev V8 but not the Ford 300-6.
