Default Progress on my 91

I didn't trust any of the old paint so I took it down to bare steel then shot 2 part epoxy primer and sanded down to 220 grit. I want to go black so I know the body has to be near perfect before paint. Those 3 panels took 2 full days and I still will want to shoot it again and sand. Pretty crazy since I will probably off- road it. I have to say this site has been a great inspiration.
Thanks,
Fred

Just finished priming so I took a night shot, I painted the emblem red to test out a look (just temporary) My problem now is my boys think the primer look is cool, they say shiny black trucks are everywhere; any opinions?

Primer is only temporary. If you don't paint it soon it will rust through where it was bare metal. Primer soaks up moisture.

Personally flat paint or primer looks like the truck is unfinished to me I'd do black with maybe a gray stripe, that'd look nice and be different

This Primer is actually ok as a final coat, it is a 2 part epoxy and has the same UV and moisture tendencies as topcoats. The real problem is it will look semi gloss when rubbed continuously. I would paint it with a topcoat to get a more consistent finish. But I agree I want to do a different look. This is too MAD MAX for me, but everyone has a right to their own preference.
