Default Problem with truck starting

my 1991 f150 has a problem starting. when i turn the key all the way over when starting it, it pauses for like 1/2 a second and will crank on over. well today i had to turn the key over, stop pull the key out and repeat that process like 10 times before it would even try to crank over.

Question: what is the problem? starter? ignition? how hard would it be to fix it or how will it cost to have it fixed?

There is an outside chance it is the ignition switch, it could be the starter. but the most likely cause of the problem is the Solenoid Switch (starter Solenoid) the part is $12.99 at Autozone. Below is what it looks like. This switch is located in the engine compartment follow the Positive (+) cable from the battery and you will find it. Before you replace it clean up the wiring connections to it and see if that helps. Bottom line easy fix.
