The little ***** that connect the motor to the worm gear may need replaced. Easy fix, available at most parts stores.

It's the gear kit inside the motor. There's 3 parts, the motor, worm gear, and the nylon gear kit. If you've ever seen the motor assembly, it's in the big circular portion on the top. It's easy as hell to replace, the hard part is getting the motor out. I took my truck to a shop for this the first time, and after watching them can do it on my own.

What you need is a hole saw to make it easy. The motor is mounted behind the inner metal on the door, in the void between that and the skin that the mirrors bolt to. With a 5/16 wrench it might be possible, but you need the hole saw to drill through the metal to easily get to the bolts.

Once you have access to the 3 bolts, it's all really easy to do

Yep that sounds like the plastic spacers in the window motor assembly are chewed up.

You can buy a kit at Autozone or the like that will have those round spacers, or you can substitute them with some hex nuts. Take off the door panel and you will see the access for the motor. Two of the bolts will be easy to get to, the third bolt you will need the drill for. You will see a dimple in the sheet metal in front of the motor, that is where the third bolt is, drill through there and make the hole large enough for your socket. Then the motor will come right out!

Took me about 20 minutes start to finish. Easy job to do yourself.
