Poor mileage
Hey guys I have a 95 Ford F-150 ext cab with a 302 4x4. I’ve noticed lately I’ve been getting poor mileage. In around 8-10. What can I do to get my mileage back it was at 15 in city. I’m running 33s I have a air intake flow master exhaust and egr delete was having issues with egr and codes after replacing and same issues I deleted it.
Suggest to pull the computer codes, if for nothing else, just to see if anything has been flagged. Offhand, thinking your model has the Mass Air Flow sensor - wondering whether something is going on either due to the air intake mod described, or that the sensor is either just dirty or has failed. If choose to clean, be sure to use the MAF cleaner, as regular carb cleaner will destroy it. Suggest to inspect that the ductwork from the MAF to the intake manifold is airtight, not allowing stray air to bleed in unmetered by the MAF.
Not liking the EGR delete, as these are a fairly critical part of the engine management, but what's done is done. Because of this, can expect some decrease in fuel economy, although not on the scale you describe.
The 33s will cost some mileage, partly because of the added rolling resistance, and partly because they're about 10% larger in diameter than stock tires, leading to upwards of a 10% decrease in calculated fuel economy. Also, if you have the 3.55 axle ratio, this change makes it an effective 3.20 as compared to stock - suggesting that the resulting perceived sluggishness may lead to a heavier foot resulting in fuel economy losses.

Did you recalibrate the PSOM for those tires?

I also changed the thermostat about 7months ago from a 180 cause the truck was getting a little too hot when towing and went down to a 160 now the truck runs on its hottest up o the n on the gauge normal
Miles per tank doesn't tell me much without knowing the size of the tank, and whether or not you're getting all the gas from it before refilling.

Put the correct (195°) thermostat in the truck. It doesn't regulate the truck's MAX temperature; it regulates the LOWEST temperature at which coolant is allowed to flow.

the 160 stat is fine and better for mpg if you have a Standard Federal ECU..... California Emissions you'll need a 180 for it to enter closed loop and even then it may teeter in and out. Standard Emissions ECU will enter closed loop at 140 degrees.
Then one of them has been swapped to a smaller tank, and you're not getting all the gas out of the other.

Are you using the tank size to calculate MPG, or are you using the gallons from the pump? Do you use your trip odometer for fillups, or do you only use the main odometer?
