please help

i just purchased a 86 f150 300 in with a 3 sp with over drive and the tranny went out and i need held determining what tranny i have i looked on the door jam and it said trans b

Stick or auto? I'm guessing stick since you said 3 speed with overdrive, it's still a 4 speed. Probably the TOD 4 speed.
