Piston order help

Default Piston order help

I am rebuilding my 302 in my 1992 f150 4x4 and I don't know if I just put the pistons in 12345678 or another order like the timing order 13726548 so any help would be great I am stumped

When I rebuilt mine, I put one side in first, then went to the other side and installed them second. I don't think the order of installation really matters.

the actual piston does not as long as the notches all face forward... the Rods on the other hand DO....

they should be numbered for the cylinder they came out of....Passenger side is 1,2,3,4 and driver side is 5,6,7,8

but they does make life confusing if you flip the engine over and see the rods numbered 1,5,2,6,3,7,4,8

so most people number them like a chevy front to back 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
