Default Pic Request

Does anyone have a 255/60 tire on the stock 15x7.5" wheel? If so, could i see a pic. I am trying to find a proper tire for my truck.

What is on it now is a 235/75. I am looking for max tread width, with a not to tall and not too short sidewall.

Not sure I want to go to 17's. In a perfect world, a set of 16" centerlines would be it.

The stock options were 235/75-R15 and 265/75-R15, so either should fit without a lift. With 265/75 you will gain almost an inch of ground clearance, you won't rub on anything, only it will cause your speedometer to read 6% slow if you had 235s stock. Still, at 75 MPH you're still within 5 MPH, so it's accurate enough to ignore. If your truck is like mine, it's a gear driven speedometer & you could swap out the gear if needed.

255/60 is a funny size for a truck IMO, unless it's a Ranger or you plan on lowering it to make it look normal. Maybe a 1" or 2" shackle drop in the back to give it a level, lowered stance. Your speedo would read 6% fast, you'd lose an inch of ground clearance, and you'd expose an extra 1" of wheel well above the tires compared to stock. If it's two wheel drive, and you know for sure it will never ever see so much as a dirt road, that would be just fine. However, with 4WD the front pumpkin is practically dragging with the stock tire size anyway, I wouldn't want anything smaller regardless of off-road considerations - you might snag the front diff on road debris!

Just my $.02. I run 285/75-R16s, but mine is lifted a bit. My speedometer is off by about 14%, I'm planning to correct that soon.

It is a 2wd. The 2" shackles are laying on the front seat waiting to be installed. So I think I will be ok. Thanks!

I bought a set of 255/60/15 BFG radial T/A for my 95. While they look good they are 2" too short. They will ,make your tranny shift way too soon (if you have an electroniclly controlled tranny).

You can get a 275/60 and recal the PSOM however. Your code will be 1080. The code for my 27" tall tire was 1122 which is farther than the speedo goes (highest is 1100).
