Default Parking Brake Problem

So, I used the parking brake on my truck for the first time yesterday. First time its been parked on any kind of decline/incline. Now whenever I come to a complete stop, it feels like the parking brake never came completely free. When I put it in reverse, it rolls fine at idle, but when I go into drive I have to get it around 1200 rpm to get rolling. I tried slowly rolling it forward and backwards in the driveway a few times. Reverse worked fine and rolled until i hit the brakes. In drive I had to give it gas to get it rolling at the same speed and after I did it would slow down somewhat quickly and then stop. It sounded like the brakes were stopping it (slight groaning noise coming from front). I can still drive it fine, just an inconvenience and I don't want it to get worse or ruin anything. If anyone could help with how to get the brakes completely free'd up, or if anyone has another idea as to what could be happening I would greatly appriciate it.
Thanks, John

Cables are seized, most likely.

Replace them. You can try to unstick them with WD-40.

You can release a seized parking brake with a hammer and screwdriver. Just follow the cable, you'll be able to see where the mechanism is. But you should replace it.
It will just seize again even with new cables unless you use it all the time.

Sounds like a plan. How hard would it be to replace it? The most I've done as far as working on brakes is replacing brake pads and putting new rotors on. Also, what all would I need to purchase to fix it? I'm thinking I'll just go ahead and replace the whole thing while I'm at it. Thanks again guys, I really appriciate all the help and information.
