Default overheating problems:(

ok so i was driving home from school and i glanced at the temp. gauge and it read that it was really really hot, as soon as i saw that, something under the hood popped and a lot of vapor came out, it doesnt look like it was the radiator because the vapor/smoke looks like it comes out from the bottom of the engine, i dont know what it is, can someone help me out or tell me what happened, thank you

Blew a hose, check the bypass hose from the thermo housing and the water pump, also check all other hoses.

Change thermostat, flush system, fill with 50\50 mix, and make sure rad is clean, also over heating might be caused by bad fan clutch. If there is very low resistance on fan, clutch bad.
