Default Overheating like a some beach

My 1990 f150 always over heats. I've flushed it, thermostat, new hoses, new water pump, everything but the radiator. I have a 1 row radiator and I am wondering if that is the problem! Please let me know! I just got my breathalyzer out of my truck today and I was looking forward to driving it but not now. :/ help please!

Is it overheating while driving? Is the water pushing out of the radiator cap? If the engine cools down while driving its a bad clutch fan, if it overheats all the time check for a bad radiator cap, if they are not the problem might be a cylinder head gasket.

Someone suggested that I may have an air pocket too. Possibilities? I will check it out. The damn thing won't start right now so in letting it cool off. You know a price of a clutch fan?

Around $50.00. If it does it all the time I would look into it a little more, be careful, let the engine cool, start it with the rad cap off, look and see if you have any bubbles, if you do its a head gasket, if not replace the rad cap and see, also test the clutch fan if it there is no resistance it is bad.

A blown head gasket wouldn't make it overheat by itself. Not having coolant in your system because of a leaking head gasket will. If there's enough coolant in it, I'd look elsewhere for your overheating problem. If it doesn't cool down when you're driving, I would check the fins on your radiator to make sure they aren't all smashed in and not allowing air to flow through it.

I'd look at the radiator. I had an overheating problem a year and a half ago. Replaced the water pump, thermostat, new coolant, flush, everything. When none of that worked I called in my mechanic to take a look and told me the radiator was dead in the water. Put a new radiator on and I can't make this thing get close to hot anymore

Explain dead in the water for me? I'm thinking I need a new radiator. There was enough coolant. But we will see here its getting hot here in Kansas.

The coolant flow through the radiator was too blocked off, so it couldn't adequately cool anymore. That'd be my meaning to dead in the water.

Put in a new radiator, problem solved. It's 2 hoses, 4 bolts, and a fan shroud I believe. That radiator turned out to be almost half full of crap and gunk. And it never overheated, just got really close a couple times

I've changed it in a Chevy before and a bronco it's not bad, just a little too expensive for me at the moment!
