Default Overheating/fuel delivery issues

'92 F150, 5.0, 5spd manual 4x4. I'm having some major issues with my truck. It's overheating and overflowing when sitting in traffic. After it gets too hot, it won't run. It's kind of like it's flooding out or something. So, I replaced the coolant temp. sensor, the fuel regulator and the fuel filter. It already has a new radiator and thermostat. How can I tell if the problem is the water pump or the fan clutch? Also, why would the overheating affect the stalling out problem? Thanks. Also, no CEL codes

from what i heard about a fan clutch is if u go to spin it with ur hand it should not spin easily when u do it... if it spins real loose like there is nothing keeping it from spining when u wing it down with ur hand then it needs replaced...

When the engine gets that hot, it's not going to run very well and doesn't like to keep running. If you've been driving around with it like that a lot you may have also damaged your brand new thermostat. Definitely change that fan clutch before you do any serious damage. If the water pump goes bad it leaks water out of a seep hole right behind where the pulley bolts on.

It's probably the fan clutch. That seems like it would explain everything. I'm still not sure if I'm testing it right. If I spin it and let go, it stops at about 2 o'clock, but I can keep spinning it. What I'm trying to say is that clockwise or counterclockwise, I can turn it with my hand without any resistance. Is it supposed to be hard to turn? Because if it is, mine is definitely toast.

I'm glad the clutch fixed your overheat problem, from the other thread. I think Sean has something about overheating causing your fuel problem. Time will definately tell. We were always told to keep the engine temp up, so the engine would go into closed loop (under control of the PCM). So what is to say if it gets to hot the PCM looses control. Just a thought!
