On a hot day with max a/c my engine temp creeps to about 215 when sitting in traffic. My stock gauge is off and and that temp the needle is a hair past the middle. I have a digital gauge for my stock gauges cause I don't trust any of them except maybe the fuel. I consider this fairly normal operation since there is no air moving through the rad sitting in traffic other then the small amount the fan is pulling.

Temp drops back down to 200 when driving. If the temp kept climbing past that while driving then I'd be worried. To accurately determine the temp I suggest using something other then the normal gauge like an infrared temp sensor or rad cap with a gauge on it.

Don't get offended. Just trying to help

I took a short drive with no fan shroud the other day. My truck ran hotter. I put the shroud back on and back to normal. I think it would help you at least if not fix it. My gauge got to the A in normal without it. That was going down the road too
