Default Old Gas

Hey guys, so as ya'll know, many of these trucks have two gas tanks. Mines does, but i've only used the rear tank for the past year or so. now as i think about it, i'm thinking that was a bad idea. now when i open up the front tank, it smells like old bad gas. what might be screwed up now that i havent used that tank fir a while?

Seeing as the 6.9 diesel will run on 50/50 diesel and waste oil your truck will probably be fine if you put some good gas in it... especially if its a I6. Those things run one anything

Default drop that tank

drop that tank and get the old gas out! If the walls are coated w/ old gas, take it to a radiator shop, they can clean and line your tank. You might as well relplace the sending unit, sock and seal while you're at it

Well its the 5.8 V8 and its my only vehicle haha. plus i dont have lots of money to take care of this, so any cheap fix? i'd say there is about a gallon and a half max in the tank. if i just filled it up with new gas and maybe an additive should that do the trick?

Put seafoam in. Really concentrated. And fill er up to the max. Drive around for a day or two without using it and let all that crap get mixed together. Then run er completely dry, then fill er up and use lucas fuel system cleaner at 1.5-2x the recommended dose per fill up. One big bottle should treat about 5-6 tank fills, and that should be all you need. After you run all that crap through change your fuel filter.

You better flip that switch and see if the pump even works still. Not much point in filling up a dead tank.

" run er completely dry" !!!! Do not do this!!! That's how you burn up your fuel pump!!! These pumps need fuel to lubricate them!!!

Well switch when it sputters. He should know what i mean. As long as theres fuel in it its getting lubricated. First time it sputters. Switch.
