Usually when the computer doesn't go into diagnostic it is fried, or it's not getting power.

Default obd1 problems/ truck cranks

well tried to start the truck this morning and it runs only with my foot holding the gas,its kinda hit and miss when i rev it up..meaning it sometimes accelerates and sometimes not.i have unhooked the battery overnote to nite to see if that helps,just wanted to mention all this incase anyone had anymore suggestions.my plan is to just get a computer from advance if this fails i only hope thats it

ordered a scanner off amazon and it will be here thursday,cost $22....i figure comp gives no data its burnt and if it does then i get code and ficksany comments welcome,knowing what people think matters....thanx

Check the manual to see if there is a fusible link in there somewhere. There is always a chance... If you have a voltmeter you can check continuity from the diagnostic point to the ECM pin. If you don't have continiuty then you have a blown fuse or fusible link between the 2 point (more than likely). If it rings through, then you probably fried your computer.
