Default not a ford question

i recently purchased a 2000 olds alero gls coupe with a 3.4L v6 in it so i can save gas and therefore throw more money into my F-150. anyway i am wondering what kind of exhaust upgrades i can do to the 3.4L. no one wants to help me on the GM forums so maybe someone on here can help me!

how do you plan on saving money to fix up your truck if you start throwing money at junk? unless it needs an exhaust to drive i wouldnt do anything to the car but drive it. and if it does NEED one just get a replacement muffler, nothing fancy or anything. and drive it.

then you can worry about what exhaust setup you want on your truck.

oh i've already got the dual straight pipes i want on my truck. no worries there. what my truck needs is a lift and a roll bar with some lights on it and a paint job.
i didnt start this thread so you can call my car junk i just wanted to know if i can upgrade the exhaust to get even better gas mileage with it like maybe some headers? i will just do some looking around and see what i come up with.
oh yeah thanks for replying anyway thats more the the GM guys could do for me!

sorry you took it as me calling your ride junk, to me anything without a bed on the back is automatically "junk" to me. no offence to your car in particular.

I did google your car and typed forum after it and came up with this.
http://www.alero.org/forums/

might be some stuff there.

Also, if you want to keep from being bashed, post questions that aren't about your truck in the "off topic" section

personally, with a 2000, i would do pretty much what you'd do for a truck. good oil, plugs, wires if it doesn't have coils, a decent drop in filter, check tire pressures, all the little stuff. as far as mufflers and such, i wouldnt do alot unless its needed. if you dont mind spending the money, i would go with a programmer. i think hypertech has one specifically for mpg increase, but thats a pretty big investment.
