Angry No Torque = STUCK IN MUD

I have got a 1994 F150 4X4 (man hubs ) extended cab with 5.0... I seem to have a take off problem ... If you floor the truck I can not feel any torque (will not spin the wheels at all on take off) come in until after 2000 RPM and then she drives normal... I checked 4X4 by tyeing off to a tree and trying to spin the wheels but could not get over 1500 RPM floored (not one will would spinn in dirt)... I checked the trans wire harness and found 4 broke wires, that fixed a hard shifting problem that I had but not the take off problem...
She also has a starting problem when warm, she will sit there and spin until you press the gas and then start but if she has sat for 12 or so hours she starts like a new truck...
I have only had the truck for a few months so I do not know the history and the person I bought it from seems to have been less than honest ...I have done a full tune up plugs, cap, rotor, ignition switch, fuel filter, fuel reg, etc... the motor runs great and the trans feels good... Me and a buddy are going to pull the codes tonight and see what else we can figure out...
Any help or ideas would be much appreciated...

F150 ext. cab 4WD is a heavy truck and a 302 is not very powerful,
but it should spin in the dirt.

You didn't mention if you had an automatic or manual transmission?

Maybe someone else will have more info for you.

scan your codes for any performance issues. should be helpful. if you want to check out if the 4wd is working by tying it off, put it in 4lo. i dont exactly recommend as thats kinda hell on it but it probably wont break anything so long as you arent roasting tires on a daily.

The 4low was lit up on the dash but I do not know for sure that it was engaged because the led was not lit up on the button... How can I check??? I do hear the 4x4 energize when i push the button and I hear the click from the hubs so as far as i can tell all is engaged... I know how to get the faults with out the scanner but you have to admit that using a scanner is a lot easier

Check your timing as well.....hook the timing gun up and pull the spout connector...yours should be near the driverside fender......maybe even try bumpin the timing up to around 14 degrees...a timing bump alone will help....

I checked the timing last night after pulling codes and it was at 8 so I set it to 10 and it got better... I thought 10 was the set point??? I may try to up it a little more and see what happens...

I had two codes: 636-trans oil temp higher or lower than expected and 626-coast clutch solenoid circuit failure... I tried looking up 626 but could not find an explaination...Does anyone know what it means???

OH, and wouldn't ya know the trans started shifting hard... Its almost like I can't feel 1st to 2nd but the others shift hard so I am going to change the fluid/filter and check the harness again and see if something got pinched...

10* is the stock setting but bumping it up will help with the low end power...Mine is set a 15 1/2*
