Default No Start - rough run

Well when i tried to start my 90 5.0 it would keep cranking but not start.
I got it to start by fluttering the gas pedal but when it did it was an extremely rough idle.
When i was driving it down the road most of the time it was ready to stall and kept jerking the vehicle.

suggestions?

Got to pull codes. Sounds like the injectors are stuck open. Putting the gas peddle down shuts them off and thats why it started. Could be other problems so pull codes. Don`t drive it anymore in tell it is fixed.

So what are you going to do? Start throwing parts at it?

That usually works.... I think it might be a fuel problem or water is getting somewhere because this only happens when it rains.

You should literally throw parts at it. As hard as you can

Yes there are codes to pull. The light doesn't have to be on. Why the f*ck do people think that?

First fluttering the pedal does nothing on an efi motor. The throttle doesn't control the fuel until the motor starts. You can hold the throttle open to let air in or floor it to turn the injectors off completely off if the engine is flooded. So aktech is saying the engine may be flooding for some reason. Second like Sean says the KAM stores codes that don't set off the CEL and the Self Test runs tests that don't always run while you are driving so its always a good idea to check codes. Once that step is done you do your standard no start tests. Check for fuel, spark, and initial timing. Then more invasive tests like compression, vacuum, fuel pressure, and spark intensity. By then you should have some clues to work with.
