Default No lights

Hello all. It has been a while since I wasl last hear, and honeslty i miss you guys (and girls, I am sure there are a few). My problem is probably common, but I am going to ask it anyways. I actually have two problems, but I will post only one this time and the other on a separate thread. On my '89, supercab, 5sp I am having electrical lighting problems. Some time ago I as it started to get dusk, I noticed that I didn't have rear or parking lights when I cut on my light switch. Also, when I connect my trailer, none of the lights work either. But the HEAD lights work. I pull the switch out to the first click, no side/ parking lights. I pull the switch out to the second click, the headlights come on. The blinkers, hazards, and brak lights work. I turn the swith clockwise and the dash neither brightens or dims, but if turned all the way the dome light comes on. I have wiggled the swith (it doesn't feel loose), pushed and pulled the swith but nothing seems to help. I have checked the fuses under the dash, but only the ones that may be associated with the lights. I am not an electrical guy and would hat to be told to run down all the wires that are connected to the lights, but I will do what I need to do. But hopefully, I can get a starting point that is less tedious. I can't drive at night with no lights, any suggestions.

Most likely the switch or the plug to the switch. The plug has a nasty habit of melting after a while.

The switch or the plug to the switch. Sound logical. I assume the switch can be traced to just behind the dash and can be pulled out? Are there any relays somewhere that may have gone bad and are they all connected on one path where one fix gets them all, know what I mean?

Most common is the melted plug or bad switch. There isn't a relay for your lights. To remove the switch you'll have to reach behind the dash and find the tiny button on the side of the switch. Hold the button in and pull out the ****. Then you can remove the bezel and switch.

Cool, the headlight switch. I will check it out. Just out of curiosity, would a bad bulb effect the path of the others? Kinda like christmas lights, one bad bulb and the whole string is out.

One burnt bulb won't make them all go out.
