Default No Electrical Power

'93 ford f150 econoline van with 302, no power when key is turned. Was attempting to start , engine almost started so continued spinning for 20 to 30 seconds when everything abruptly went dead. Now no power at all when switch is turned.
All help would be appreciated, thank you all.

Welcome to the site!

Suggest first place to look is at the battery terminal connections, ensuring they are clean and tight.

Then inspect the starter relay solenoid, again for clean tight connections. The power for all the lights and controls come off the input side of this solenoid, so thinking your problem is either between the battery and here, or the battery and its ground connections to the engine block and frame. Have had one instance where the power cable itself failed underneath the insulation at the battery post clamp.

Long shot, but may want to verify the battery is still good, that something didn't happen internally causing the loss of power.

Fuses or fusible link is a possibility, but IMO at the bottom of the list if nothing else listed above is found.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

Default No Electrical Power

About an hour after posting, I drove to the local Ford dealership. I talked to a mechanic that suggested fuse link, wire connection at starter, solenoid and battery.
The original clamps had been replaced with the type that uses 2 small bolts and a strap to hold the cables. On both clamps the bolts were lose, tightened them
and it cranked up. No one has been maintaining the van since the widow's husbands passing.
Thank you for your response.

Yep - that's why I hate those terminals so much. Before it strands anyone again, repair it correctly. It's not expensive or difficult. Click this & read all the captions:
