Well there is this black security box under my dash that feel down so I zipped tied it up and tried to start the truck and it won't crank. It will start if I jump the starter but not with the key...

Does the truck have an after-market remote start?

You have a picture of the black box? There isn't one that I'm aware of under the dash.

Yeah thats what I figured, the security module is tied into the ignition switch, which is why it won't let you start it by key. Personally I would have it removed cause who knows what kind of wiring was done.
