Default A new problem once again, headlights

I had been driving my truck with the brights on because when I recieved it the left light didnt have a low beam. I recently bought standard lights model number 9004, installed them and they both worked but seemed dim.

I was driving home last night and the left light went out again, even when I switched to brights. Tonight when I left work the left worked again on high. Like an idiot I switched to low and it went out again. Halfway home the right went out then came back on.

Then the right only worked on low beams and it was equal to someone holding a zippo as far as light goes.

If it wasnt for my parking lights and other cars I would have had to park it

Any Ideas

Thanks Again

Sounds like you need a new relay. Contacts in relay are probably wore out. Things like this happen in older vehicles. The way both lights are having issues in and out every now and then is what leads me to believe that possibly could be it. If that is the problem it will after awhile not work at all after contacts in the relay burn up.

There isn't a relay to the headlights, they receive power straight through the switch. All the headlight problems I have are because of the dimmer switch, but my problems don't switch from left to right. According to the wiring diagram the power goes through the headlight switch and the dimmer switch as one wire, then tee off to the headlights. The problem is either a bad splice, probably where the wire tees off or bad headlight grounds.

Before I ask this question, let me say I dont know a terrible amount about automotives

Could me headlights acting crazy and my fuel tanks dumping back and forth to each other be a grounding/elec issue

It would be great if my radio noise on my cassette player got fixed also

Thanks again for all the help

the radio noise and headlight problems seem like grounding issues to me.

Your new headlights blew because you touched the bulb when you installed them. The oil from your fingers makes the bulb blow.
