New Issue
I have a 1992 F150 with a 5.0 and today coming to work while on the gas the truck shut off.I put the gas pedal to the floor and the truck came back on.I never even touched the key.Has anyone had this issue? This is the first time the truck has done this.
Sounds like the same issue as your other thread..The engine needs fuel, air and fire to run. If any one of those legs is missing the engine wont run. You've cleaned and repaired ALL grounds, replaced the distributer, got into the IAC, worked on vacuum. I'm thinking you might want to troubleshoot a bit. Get a Haynes book and troubleshoot your fuel and ignition. You may have a fuel delivery problem. You can check fuel pressure yourself, get a loaner guage from autozone.

Pressure regulator tested fine. The ignition module tested bad. Changed it and truck ran great till I drove it home. It died twice and before it died the light came on and the truck had no power. Restart the truck the last time and drove the truck hard. Truck ran great and no light. I need to pull the codes to see what is going on.
The check engine light. I have a buddy looking at the truck now. The truck is now making a popping sound under the hood when the engine light comes on. I think it maybe timing since the truck has 210000 miles on it.

Take 5Rangers advice. Thre is no better way to fix problem than proper diagnosis. Get the Haynes, pull the codes and do the tests in the Haynes. I didn't listen to advice and wound up spending about 300.00 for a 50.00 problem.
Good Luck!

+1 Proper diagnosis takes more time at first, but will save you a LOT of time in the end. Think of the goal of diagnosis as following a path of clues TO the problem, rather than just trying to eliminate stuff at random.
