Default new here.. i guess... lol

hey everyone! was on the site before but decided to start fresh as i hadnt been here in nearly 3 years and have went through 3 other trucks since i was here..

But have a truck i've built and am keeping forever...

bought the truck December 21st, 2011 with 159k miles on it... for a thousand bucks... but bad trans and need exhaust and cleaned up, also ECU was bad, and engine was burning a lil bit of oil..

1992 Ford F150. 165,280 miles on it.
5.0
AOD..

Transmission was rebuilt and back on the road January 4, 2012.. Completely overhauled and upgraded everywhere including gears etc..

Drove it for a while after that, then had some electrical issues that turned up to be a bad ECU.. swapped it out...

Drove till November, and at that point the burning oil/leaking oil/leaking coolant was unbearable..
ENGINE BUILD TIME!!!

5.0 .030 OVERBORE..
Flat Top (stock mustang pistons) w/valve relief
Trick Flow Track Heat 170cc/58cc chamber heads.
Comp Cam XE-264HR
Scorpion 1.72 Roller Rockers
Pacesetter Short-Tube Headers
EGR/Smog Delete
Massively ported Truck intake.
MSD Coil and Cap/Rotor
Ford Racing 9MM plug wires
NGK FR5 plugs.

Still running on Factory Speed Density...

Should all be around 300hp at wheels.. with better intake and Tune it could be 325ish maybe better at the wheels..

800 miles on the engine now..

ANY QUESTIONS ASK AWAY!!!!

this video of the 0-60 was with 150 miles on the rebuild..

awesome engine! Can I ask what it roughly cost to do that? how much did you do and how much did you have someone else do for ya? not in need of a rebuild yet, but when I am, something like that is what I would like to do. our just doing it for the extra ponies wouldn't be bad either.

Nice, Question. Where did you get that fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail?

me and my buddy built it.. I bought the shortblock for 825 including the shipping..

only things reused from old engine was intake, valve covers, oil pan..

all together including radiator hoses, bolt kit, heads, cam, roller rockers, roller lifters push rods, headers and all fluids water pump paints all supplies.. it was 3500 in parts..

me and my buddy that builds lightnings and mustangs and runs a repair/race shop built it and installed it at his place..

Sounds like how mine was. Not only it was slugged, had slight knock, eating oil and even this:

it still ran just fine.

But good job on the build!
Any other plans for it?

gonna tune it with Moates QH, new exhaust, and a TFS-R intake... adjustable fuel pressure regulator..

trans will be getting a Transgo shift kit, Trans go shift adjuster to bring shifts up towards 5700 rpms or so.

rear end will be rebuilt with new gears and detroit tru-trac

couple weeks from now the truck is getting Gen 1 Lightning suspension..
