Default new here / 1987 question

Hi all, thanks for letting me in!! Ive been browsing and i really like the forum.

I have a question on my 1987 F150, 302 EFI, auto, 4x4. 115K

This truck is very close to me, but its starting to look a bit fugly!.. Alot of my friends and family have had awesome luck with LMC truck, And i have been thinking about getting new sheet metal (skins) for the doors and the sides of the box....

I do have a welder and i am experienced in welding, but can anyone tell me what im running into, and tips/hints, past experience?

Thanks allot!

Jared

umm i was told to day but my local mechanic you can get wheel well panels that are stick ons you just grind of the paint and everything to the bare metal take the new panel stick it on grind the seem down slightly then apply your fill sand then check again for no blemishs then fix if there is any then apply paint or rock gaurd... he said he has seen a couple trucks with them and even one smashed and the panel never cracked or broke when the seems were.
