[QUOTE=sdmartin65;4285772]If I do go this route I'd freshen up the 4R70W at the same time, /QUOTE]

What does this mean? I found out I have 4R70W as well. Does this mean rebuilding the transmission also? Thinking of new or used or rebuilt engine nex year. I should rebuild the transmission as well?

My truck is at 200k and this new motor will be 75 to 100 horse above stock. I'm going for a full transmission rebuild. Haven't research and talked to shops yet to find out what a trans rebuild includes but I also might just buy a unit from a reputable builder.

This week I'll run the motor to my friends shop that will be doing the install. I'm sure it will sit until he slows down after the first of the new year. A question for you engine gurus. Does the Comp Cam have a smaller base circle and if it does might I need longer pushrods? I'm using the stock lifters, pushrods and rockers. A few cylinders don't seem to have much preload when the cam has no lift.

Got the new valve covers and fuel injection installed. Can't forget the new balancer.Haven't had a chance to move it to the install shop yet.

Dam little odds and ends add the $'s.

Got the new motor in over the last few days. Very happy with the power band on the Comp Cam, it put a smile on my face.
